A Life Shaped by Calling

Led by Presence

I’ve served in ministry for more than 35 years, learning—often the hard way—to trust God through both clarity and fog. Today, I serve as the lead minister of DC Regional Christian Church, helping people recognize and follow God’s presence in the real, everyday moments of life.

My book, Follow the Cloud, Not the Crowd, is rooted in Scripture and shaped by a lifetime of discovering one essential truth: God always goes first—and we are invited to move with Him. Through years of leadership, failure, growth, and grace, I’ve learned that God’s presence is not merely enough; it is the power that carries us forward.

I live in the Washington, D.C. area with my wife, Charon, who has faithfully walked beside me for decades as we’ve poured our lives into helping people follow Jesus. Together, we invest deeply in young adults, encourage leaders, mentor couples, and watch God change lives—often one conversation at a time. I’m also the grateful father of three sons who continue to teach me as much about faith as I’ve ever learned in ministry.

In quieter moments, I return to this simple truth: the cloud is still moving—and God is still leading.

God's Grace

The solid ground beneath my life and ministry is God’s grace. Grace met me where I was, steadied me when I doubted, and moved me forward when fear tried to hold me still. When uncertainty rises, I return to this truth: God is with me, for me, and already ahead of me. That assurance has always been enough to take the next faithful step.

Trusting Jesus as Lord

Jesus is Lord. I have built my life around a single commitment—to surrender to His authority and trust His lead. Faith is more than agreement with facts about Christ; it is lived trust. It is choosing obedience, allowing Him to redirect my path, and following even when the way forward is not yet clear.

Relationships Rooted in Love

I was never meant to follow God alone. My faith has been shaped and sustained through relationships rooted in love—shared life, honest conversation, mutual encouragement, and the steady reminder that God often meets us through His people. Giving myself in community has not diminished me; it has brought deep joy.

These anchors have shaped my life, my ministry, and the way I walk with God.

Why I Write and Speak

I write and speak out of an overflow of witnessing the power of God’s presence—how He leads us into real life when we learn to trust Him. I have been blessed beyond measure, and I hold that blessing with humility, knowing that to whom much is given, much is required.

My calling is to help people slow down, listen more deeply, and learn to trust God’s presence again—especially in a world filled with constant demands and competing voices. There is no greater joy for me than helping people walk more closely with Jesus.
